The Sindhi language has always been facing problems. Foreigners have been attacking Sindh, but the Sindhi language has remained in its place. The British did the basic work for the Sindhi language. He declared writing compulsory. He said that as long as there were government schools, Sindhi language was taught, but the private education system damaged the language. Sindhi language is the only language in which education is given. There are TV channels and newspapers. In large numbers. Books are published.
Tehmina Mufti said that Sindhi language needs ownership on the political and social front. Companies should be forced to write the names of their products in Sindhi. Shop boards should be written in Sindhi. He said that we consider our language as our existence. Therefore, we have to work everywhere to save our language.
Senior journalist and Niaz Panhor said that every individual has to play their role to save the mother tongue. Governments work or not, that is a separate issue and governments are also formed by the people. Therefore, the role of each individual is important. He said that institutions cannot be owned. Any mistake in the language of the newspaper is discussed only in social media. Sindhi newspapers rarely find good Sindhi writers. Earlier, the young people who used to come were literate, but now the language of ordinary textbooks comes to the young. There is a huge shortage of people who can write and speak good Sindhi on the media side.
Renowned educationist Idris Jatoi said that the language of teaching in educational institutions should be corrected and the teachers of higher education institutions should be trained from the basic level and the teacher training institutions should train the teachers in Sindhi.
Senior journalist Naz Sahti said that like the language manual of different departments, a manual of journalistic language should be made which includes authentic and accurate words, besides the names of various institutions which are in English for example Port Qasim Authority etc. Recommend that they be implemented. He said that wherever mistakes are seen in the dictionaries, they should be corrected.
