International Children's Day, a two-day 'National Conference' under the title of "Children's Literature written in Sindhi Language: New Trends, Topics and New Requirements"
On the occasion of International Children's Day, a two-day 'National Conference' under the title of "Children's Literature written in Sindhi Language: New Trends, Topics and New Requirements" was organized by the authority of Sindhi Language at Mumtaz Mirza Auditorium on 19 and 20 November 2022. Happened in Hyderabad.
The opening ceremony was presided over by the chairman of the institution, Dr. Ishaq Samiji, while the commissioner of Hyderabad, Nadimur Rahman Memon, Mr. Ayaz Gul, Dr. Adal Soomro, Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Ullah Bakhsh Soomro University, Prof. Dr. Bhai Khan Shar, Pro Vice Chancellor of Sindh University, Prof. Dr. Rafiq Memon attended as special guest. During the inauguration, the students of Qasim Girls High School presented a tableau. After the ceremony, the first session was held under the title "New topics, trends and forms of children's literature in the world", in which Dr. Adal Soomri, Dr. Tehmina Mufti, Mukhtar Malik Yasir Qazi shared their views. On the first day of the conference, after a short stay with the famous children's author Ayaz Patoli, he was also given the Lifetime Achievement Award for his services to children's literature. The same award was reserved for famous writer Parwani Siwahani, who could not participate in the program.
In the night, children from different regions presented songs in their own voice in the singing competition under the theme of "Baalak Sur Mandal", they were also given prizes.
On the second day of the conference, a session was held under the title "Science, Technology and Children's Literature", which was chaired by Dr. Ali Murtazai Dhariji. In the session, Dr. Fayyaz Latif, Dr. Manzoor Visari, Aisha Hameed and Saeed Ahmed Samiji spoke on the related topic. The session was hosted by Amar Fayyaz Bharri.
On the second day, a session titled "Past, Present and Future of Writing Children in Pakistan" was held, which was chaired by Altaf Malkani, while Prof. Saleem Mughal of Urdu, Prof. Ashraf Sohail, writer from Punjab, Balochi writer Noor Muhammad Jamali, Brahvi researcher Nazir Shaker Brohi and Urdu's Mehboob Ilahi spoke." The host of this session was Muhammad Waseem Khan.
The session titled "Role of Literature in Children's Bright Future" was presided over by Dr. Peron Musa Memon, the host of the session was Shaukat Chachar. In this session, Haseeb Nahi, Zamir Abbas Abari, Zubair Soumri and Khalil Jabbar shared their views.
Nazir Naz, Anwar Soomri and Muhammad Ali Majid shared their views in the session entitled "Children's Magazines and Publishing Institutions", hosted by Wahid Pars Hesbani.
Professor Idris Jatoi presided over the session under the title "Children's Literature and Sindhi Teaching in Textbooks", Abdul Razzaq Chana, Ali Abid, Ghulam Mustafa Solangi and Abdul Waheed Kallor read the papers.
Nazir Naz, Zeib Nizmani, Dr. Tehmina Mufti, Gulbadan Javed Mirza and Humira Naz spoke in the "Story Telling Period" hosted by Prof. Shabnam Gul.
In the end, the stage play "Alf Ak B Badak" written and directed by Shahnawaz Bhatti was presented. Children also sang songs in the outdoor pandal.
Shields were also given to the co-guests at the national conference. In the closing session, Chairman of Sindhi Language Authority Dr. Ishaq Samejo thanked the people who participated in the two-day national conference.
